About Me

Hi, I'm Katie, the founder and owner of Petal to the Press.

My love of gardening started only a few years ago, however I grew up surrounded by amazing gardeners in my family. My dad cultivated rows and beautiful rows of Zinnias and Yarrow each year and we always had dried yarrow bundles throughout our house growing up.

When my Dad passed away unexpectedly in 2019, I wanted a way to hold onto the blooms he had grown that year and discovered drying in silica gel and created frames with the preserved blooms for each of our family members. Thus beginning my flower pressing and drying journey. In November of 2022, I began Petal to the Press began as a way to extend my garden and to share my love of preserving flowers with others.

I love experimenting with each different flower, leaf and plant to see how they dry or press and then turning them into art. I carefully choose the plants to add to my garden, selecting the best options for pressing to create framed art, bookmarks, cards and other gift options.
